The winner of a £5 million Omaze luxury house has revealed why she has decided to sell it.

Oceanne Belle of Barking won the multi-million pound house in December last year, Omaze's biggest prize draw, but has opted to sell it in 2024.

The Chelsea townhouse on Ovington Street was spotted on British real estate company Rightmove, listed on February 29 this year, and remains unsold today (June 23).

People can enter the Omaze London House Competition, as Oceanne did, which is a prize draw to win luxury home and £250,000 in cash.

In a statement provided by Omaze yesterday (June 23), Oceanne explained why she had opted to sell the house, despite expressing delight when she won it.

"I still can’t believe it actually happened [winning the home] - going from sofa surfing to living in a £5m house is still hard to comprehend.

"The £100,000 I also received as part of my win meant we’ve never had any worries about staying here - and if we wanted to, we could easily live here for at least another five years just on that money alone.

"But we’ve decided to cash in and move a bit closer to our friends and family," Oceanne said.

The Barking woman explained that the large sum of money from the sale would be used to help her loves ones and enjoy the rest of their lives worry-free.

Oceanne added that she was working towards her dream of becoming a paediatric nurse and credited the win in helping that become realistic.

She praised the community on Ovington Street following her expected departure.

"We’ve loved every second we’ve spent at the house, it’s been amazing waking up in such a luxurious home every morning - we’ve enjoyed the area so much - and our neighbours are so lovely, we’ve been made to feel part of the community which has been wonderful," Oceanne said.

The luxury house has been described as a grade II listed freehold, completely renovated and remodelled with a 15x15 foot garden, on the Rightmove listing.

It is now being marketed by Strutt & Parker estate agents and is open to offers.
