The first images of how a major Romford shopping centre's planned transformation could look like have been revealed.
The Liberty Shopping Centre in Western Road will benefit as part of a multi-year £7 million improvement budget from operating company Redical, it was announced on Monday (July 1).
Redical said its long-term commitment to revitalise The Liberty was "well underway".
It comes after a planning application from Romford Shopping Centre Limited was submitted for fresh signs and entrance renovations, A0018.24, which was received by Havering Council on June 4.
In a separate application, P0791.24, from the same developer, changes to the main entrance of The Liberty, including the installation of projecting signs and a digital screen clock, were made.
This would also see a lit ceiling system installed under The Liberty's tower and the refurbishment of its steel columns.
Brands Pret A Manger and Black Sheep Coffee have already recently opened outlets in the shopping centre.
Mikko Syrjanen, Redical co-founder, said: "We are serious about unlocking the full potential of our assets and The Liberty Romford is a prime example of this."

Redical said it had also invested more than £500,000 into car parking, CCTV, cleaning upgrades and a management suite at The Liberty.
A spokesperson said: "The new brand identity and destination refresh is soon to be revealed on the new entranceways and wayfinding signage, signifying to the market the active step change at The Liberty Romford under Redical’s new leadership."
A third application, A0018.24, bids to install lit and non-lit signs in the shopping centre car park of the site.
Another application, P0798.24, has bid for outside changes to entrances two, five, six and nine of the shopping centre.
It proposes new entrance doors which could be granted with lighting and timber-effect metal cladding.
All four applications were either made on June 4 or 5 and have decision dates either on July 30 or 31, when the council will either grant or refuse the proposals.
Mr Syrjanen added that Redical's commitment to the Romford site was "long-term".
