Andrew Rosindell has successfully fended off a challenge from Labour candidate Andrew Achilleos to remain Romford MP.
Speaking after he was declared the winner in the early hours of this morning (July 5), Mr Rosindell said: "For me this is a very proud moment to be elected the Member of Parliament for Romford for the seventh time."
His victory comes with Labour on course for a landslide win across the country and leader Sir Keir Starmer set to become the new Prime Minister.
Before this year’s poll, Romford was a safe Conservative seat and had voted the party in since 2001, the year Rosindell was elected.

But it became clear shortly after the election was called that this year’s race would not be straightforward for the Tories.
Pre-election polls were scarce, but most pointed to a tight race, albeit one that favoured Mr Rosindell.
YouGov yesterday (July 4) predicted a tight race before the count, with 35 per cent voting Conservative and 34.4pc Labour, just a 0.6pc difference.
But it was not to be for the Labour candidate and Mr Rosindell won re-election yet again.
Mr Rosindell said: "However, I am deeply sad that tonight many of my friends and colleagues across the country have not been returned as members of parliament in the House of Commons and my heart goes out to them."
In the borough’s other race, Conservative incumbent Julia Lopez also held onto her Hornchurch and Upminster seat.
