A South Asian restaurant has opened in a former Halifax and we have taken a look inside its premises.

GOAT, which stands for Greatest of All Taste, opened in Station Lane, Upminster, earlier this month.

The restaurant has welcomed people into the premises, which was previously a Halifax branch, after a "long and challenging" opening process.

Manager Iftakar Hussain, 42, was adamant his restaurant would be in Upminster for the foreseeable future after its opening was attended by the Mayor of Havering.

GOAT is run by Iftakar and business partner Russel Ahmed, 46, of Gidea Park, and is open from 5pm until 10pm, Sunday to Thursday, and from 5pm till 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

Iftakar, who has lived in Hornchurch since 2018, said GOAT was a "beautiful addition" to the Upminster area.
