You can visit an award-winning Kent vineyard with wine tours starting from just £20 and it's just 90 minutes from south east London.

Set amidst the rolling hills of what’s known as The Garden of England, a short way from Tenterden you’ll find Chapel Down Winery, a 750-acre vineyard and England’s leading wine producer.

You can reach the vineyard by car or, if you fancy a car-free trip, by train from Headcorn station.

Producing both still and sparkling wines, Chapel Down is known for supplying wine to popular events like Royal Ascot as well as to 10 Downing Street and The London Stock Exchange.

If you fancy a day out in Kent and love wine, Chapel Down’s vineyard makes for the perfect day out, whether you fancy enjoying the countryside views or want to learn more about the English winemaking industry.

The vineyard offers a range of different experiences to choose from, ranging from bespoke wine tasting for £20 to a guided tour with tasting and a three-course meal for £130 a person.

During an experience you’ll have a chance to try an array of wines produced by the vineyard from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Bacchus.

There are 13 grape fields to explore, growing various types of grapes for red, white and sparking wines, as well as a herb garden and a picnic area if you fancy bringing a picnic after a walk around the vineyard.

Along with the vineyards there’s also an on-site restaurant with 2 AA rosettes, offering bespoke tasting and fine dining experiences.

Chapel Down was previously named winner of the TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards for 2023, distinguishing the vineyards within the top 10 percent of places to visit worldwide.

The vineyard also neighbours nearby attractions like the Kent & East Sussex Railway, along with the historic Stocks Windmill, if you fancy making a weekend of a visit to Kent and East Sussex.
