An escaped prisoner has been found and arrested in south London.

Graham Gomm escaped from prison on Thursday, July 18.

This morning (Saturday, July 20) at around 8.30am he was arrested in Putney.

An investigation about how he escaped is ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “As a result of a coordinated police operation working alongside colleagues from HM Prison Service, Graham Gomm has been arrested and returned to prison.

“Police officers from across the Met worked together after being alerted to Graham Gomm's escape on 18 July.

“As a result of a proactive operation, officers arrested Gomm in Putney at around 08:30hrs on 20 July.

“An investigation will continue into Mr Gomm escaping lawful custody.”
