A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Woolwich.

The incident happened in Powis Street just before 6.40pm today (July 26). 

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured. 

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as non life threatening. 

No arrests have been made as police enquires continue. 

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called to Powis Street, SE18, at 18.37hrs on Friday, 26 July to reports of a stabbing.

"Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).

"A man in his 20s was found with stab wounds.

"He has been taken to hospital, his condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

"There have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing."
