Southeastern trains have been disrupted after a lorry hit a bridge in Bexley.

The line between Hither Green and Dartford was closed this morning (Friday, August 9) as a result.

Trains this morning have therefore not been able to stop at Lee, Mottingham, New Eltham, Sidcup, Albany Park, Bexley and Crayford.

Southeastern has confirmed that the bridge was not damaged.

Passengers were able to use London buses at no extra cost.

The line reopened shortly afterwards with the first train running as normal being the 10.34am Gravesend to Charing Cross service.

A spokesperson for Southeastern said: “The line re-opened shortly before 11am after it was confirmed there was no damage to the bridge.

“Services are returning to normal. Anyone delayed by more than 15 minutes can claim Delay Repay compensation on our website.”
