A schoolgirl who died after a bus crash in Bexleyheath had her organs donated to help six other children.
Ada Bicakci and her five-year-old brother were found injured after being hit by a bus in Watling Street at 9.05am on August 3.
The siblings, who were with a family member at the time, were taken to hospital for treatment.
The nine-year-old died in hospital on the afternoon of August 5 and her brother was only taken there as a precaution.
Ada, who was a Turkish and British national, had her organs donated to help six other children following her death.
She went to a Turkish school in south-east London who was keen gymnast and swimmer.
Tributes have since been paid to Ada with flowers and handwritten notes left at the scene of the incident.
Her family have said she will have a multi-faith funeral.
One of the notes read: “RIP little princess, fly with the angels. Gone too soon. "Thinking of you all at this emotional time.”
Another one said: “Rest in Peace forever young princess. Sleep with the angels.”
The male driver of the bus was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and drug-driving.
He has been bailed to a date in early November pending further enquiries.
Rosie Trew, TfL’s Head of Bus Service Delivery, said they are “urgently” investigating the circumstances of the crash.
She added: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the child who tragically died after a bus collision in Bexley.
“This will be an unimaginably awful time for their family.
“We are working with the police and the bus operator, Arriva, to investigate urgently the circumstances of the collision.
“We have support available for everyone affected."
Any witnesses to the collision who are yet to speak with police are asked to call 101 quoting reference CAD 2309/03AUG.
