There has been yet another east London fire today in a high rise building, prompting an evacuation and significant alarm from people in the area.
Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters tackled a blaze in a high rise building on Biscayne Avenue, Blackwall, in Tower Hamlets today (August 26).
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) responded to more than 110 calls regarding the blaze, and was first called at 1.28pm.
Separately, 100 people were evacuated from a block of flats in Dagenham after the LFB was called to a huge blaze at 2.44am, sending 225 firefighters.
Half a flat and balcony on the 25th floor of the 45-storey building in Tower Hamlets was alight and the fire produced a large amount of smoke.

People in the area were told to keep windows and doors shut and to avoid Biscayne Avenue.
The LFB had the blaze under control by 2.50pm after crews from Millwall, Plaistow, Shadwell and surrounding stations attended.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation," LFB, which deployed two aerial ladders, including a 64-metre one, to tackle the blaze, added.
