A young man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Hackney.

Police were called to Towpath Walk next to the River Lea at around 11.30pm yesterday evening (September 9).

A man aged in his 20s was found at the scene with knife wounds.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made but police enquiries remain ongoing.

Lee Conservancy Road, which runs parallel to Towpath Walk, has been shut since around 11.30pm last night (September 9).

Earlier today, congestion was reported in Eastway via Wick Road, and from Hackney Marshes along Homerton High Street as a result.

The road closure has also forced the diversion of bus routes 236 and 276.
