Looking to take the perfect picture of your trip to London but aren't sure where is the best spot worth an Instagram post?

Then you're in luck as a new study has discovered the top attractions along the River Thames that are worth a picture or two.

It's no surprise that London is one of the most hashtagged locations on Instagram, with the region attracting millions of tourists yearly.

Now the study, conducted by travel experts at Thames River Cruises, has discovered the popular attractions on the River bank that make a great Instagram post.

Most Instagram-worthy spots along the Thames

The study used the number of posts featuring hashtags related to the attractions to discover which were the top.

Below you'll find the most Instagrammable spots and the amount of hashtags they featured.

Big Ben was at the top of the list with an impressive 3,549,006 posts featuring the hashtag #bigben.

Big Ben is located at the Elizabeth Tower in the Palace of Westminster and while technically, Big Ben is the name of the giant bell in the clock tower.

Second was the London Eye, the renowned tourist attraction offering visitors a bird's eye view of the city's stunning skyline.

The thirty-minute ride in one of the glass capsules allows guests to spot other famous London landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and St. Paul's Cathedral. 

Third place went to Tower Bridge, known for its majestic architecture and stunning views of the River Thames.

Visitors can explore the Tower Bridge Exhibition, which offers insights into the history and engineering behind this famous bridge.  

Also on the list was the Southbank Centre, Europe's largest centre for the arts which is located on the south bank of the Thames and is home to venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Hayward Gallery.
