A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after a crash with a car in Lewisham.

The incident happened in Loampit Vale at around 1.25pm today (September 18).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found the rider of the bike injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.

Road closures have been put in place as the incident is being dealt with.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 13:25hrs on Wednesday, 18 September to reports of a collision involving a car and motorbike on Loampit Vale in Lewisham.

“Emergency services attended. 

“The rider was taken to hospital by the LAS. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.23pm today (Wednesday 18 September) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Jerrard Street and Loampit Vale, Lewisham.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews.

“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre as a priority.”
