A witness has told how she tried to save the life of a teenage boy who was left 'pouring with blood' after he stabbed in Woolwich.
The Metropolitan Police were called around 6.30pm on Sunday (September 22) to reports of a disturbance on Eglinton Road, Woolwich.
When they arrived, the boy was found with a stab injury and died shortly afterwards.
His next of kin have been informed.
Witnesses have described the harrowing scene.
One woman, wishing to remain anonymous, told the News Shopper: "I raced outside and put pressure on the boy until the police arrived; he was pouring with blood.
"I tried to do my best until police arrived."
Kate, who has lived on Ripon Road for five years and did not want to give her surname, shared her fear: "I heard loud screams, and then a few minutes after, police came racing down.
"I'm terrified. We've asked the council for CCTV several times, but they've not listened to us. Now this has happened."
Photos from the scene show Eglinton Road cordoned off, with Metropolitan Police officers and the Territorial Support Group in attendance.
Another resident, also choosing to stay anonymous, expressed their concern: "It's so sad, another stabbing.
"I've got three kids; I'm so scared for them and their safety."
As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made, and a crime scene remains in place.
