A major change to how Ofsted grades schools across the country was implemented at the start of the month, which also gave way to the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Department for Education (DfE) revealed on September 2 that the single word judgements previously used by Ofsted to rate schools from its inspections will no longer be used.
Schools that are due for inspection this year will now receive ratings based on the four existing subcategories, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
The measure was brought into force with "immediate effect" following the government's belief that a single grade is too simple and does not best reflect performance across different areas.
In light of the change, we have put together a list of all the current Ofsted ratings for secondary schools in Havering before we start to see the new system in play.
'Outstanding'
Hall Mead School, Upminster - The latest full inspection was carried out on February 6, 2013. The most recent school inspection was conducted on September 26, 2023.
Redden Court School, Harold Wood - The latest school inspection was conducted on October 8, 2022.
'Good'
Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College, Hornchurch - Last full inspection was carried out on September 19, 2017. The last school inspection is dated December 13, 2022.
Bep Academy, Romford - Its most recent inspection visit was on April 27, 2023.
Bower Park Academy, Romford - Last full inspection was carried out on March 14, 2018. The last school inspection is dated September 13, 2023.
The Bridge, Romford - Its most recent inspection visit was on January 25, 2024.
Corbets Tey School, Upminster - Ofsted last visited on May 1 2024.
Drapers' Academy, Harold Hill - The latest school inspection was carried out on March 4, 2020, raising the previous rating to 'good'.
Emerson Park Academy, Hornchurch - The latest school inspection was conducted on June 21, 2022.
Gaynes School, Upminster - The most recent school inspection was carried out on November 29, 2022.
Immanuel School, Romford - It was last inspected by Ofsted on June 6, 2013.
Koru Independent AP Academy, Harold Hill - June 20, 2023 was the date of its most recent Ofsted visit.
Lime Academy Forest Approach, Harold Hill - Its most recent inspection was on July 17, 2023.
Lime Academy Ravensbourne, Harold Hill - The last inspection at the school was on July 2, 2024.
Marshalls Park Academy, Romford - The latest school inspection was carried out on January 30, 2020.
Sanders Draper, Hornchurch - This school was inspected on January 10, 2023.
The Brittons Academy, Rainham - A school inspection was carried out on October 5, 2022.
