The former site of a North London institution is set to be taken over by an "elegant" Italian bar and restaurant.
Babbo will open its doors at the former Harry Morgan's premises in St John's Wood High Street from Monday December 9th, offering all day dining from breakfast and brunch through to lunch and dinner.
It will replace the much-loved Jewish deli, which had served up salt beef sandwiches, chicken soup and cheesecake to the neighbourhood since 1948.
Harry's closed in 2021citing issues over a rent dispute and reduced trading during Covid.
New eatery Babbo - the affectionate Italian term for Dad - has an 84-capacity dining area, lounge and bar and a heated outside terrace seating up to 24 diners.
The menu is curated by executive chef Nicola Cariglia to highlight the rich and diverse flavours of Italy, using only the finest ingredients.
Signature dishes include the Babbo Parmagiana, Angel Hair White Ragout, Lardo di Colonnata, Grilled Baby Chicken and Spaghetoni Gragnano with Chilli Mussels and Baby Squid.
Meanwhile the bar and lounge will be serving up a curated selection of fine wines and cocktails including Pompello Spritz, Verdita Margarita, and Sage Cherry Negroni.
Babbo's owners hope the neighbourhood restaurant will embody the warmth of Italian dining culture, and offer North Londoners a setting for both casual dining and to celebrate special occasions.
Nicola Cariglia said: “We are thrilled to introduce Babbo to the vibrant community of St John’s Wood.
"Our vision is to create a space where guests can gather to enjoy delicious food, great wine, and the company of friends and family.
"We believe in the power of good food to bring people together and look forward to welcoming our neighbours to Babbo!"
