Three men have been charged after a man was killed in a shooting.

Joshua McLean, 31, was killed on August 6 after he was fatally shot in Weavers Field, Wilmot Street, in Bethnal Green.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command arrested eight men aged between 17 and 56 on suspicion of murder on Wednesday (September 25).

Now three of them have been named as they were charged with murder.

This includes Nefur Miah, 36, of Redmans Road in Stepney Green, Ismail Ali, 37, of Marlborough Road in Romford and Simeon Oliver-Stewart of Clevedon Close in Stoke Newington.

They are all due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court later today (September 27).

The remaining five who were arrested have been released on bail.

Joshua was found with fatal injuries and received first aid at the scene before he died.

Det Insp Jonny Newell said: “Our thoughts remain with Joshua’s family who are absolutely devastated by this tragic incident.

“I am grateful to those who have spoken to officers and provided information that assisted us in our enquiries, but would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident to get in touch with police if they haven’t done so already."
