A person was taken to hospital following a crash involving two vans and a lorry.
The London Fire Brigade was called to Southend Road, in Chingford at 5.08am this morning (October 2) following reports of a crash.
The A406 North Circular was closed for several hours eastbound from the Cooks Ferry roundabout in Chingford because of a serious collision on the flyover, AA Traffic News had reported.
A LFB spokesperson said: "Two vans collided with a lorry.
"One person was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service."
Crews were mobilised from Chingford Fire Station to the scene and left at 5.34am.
At 11.30am the road was still closed with congestion reaching Palmers Green, in Enfield, according to AA Traffic News.
At 10.20am @ Aadil474 tweeted: "Stuck in traffic for the last 3 hours at A406, no way out.
"No one is here to assist and reroute the traffic."
The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance have been contacted.
