Dartford has been ranked as the most ‘relaxed’ area in England – rated by the people who live there.
Dartford, just three miles from south east London, is often best known for its busy Dartford Crossing first built in 1963, spanning the river Thames and linking drivers with the busy M25.
However, despite its reputation as a busy area for traffic, Dartford was recently ranked as England’s most “relaxed” area, according to a study by fitness supplier Mirafit.
The fitness equipment supplier analysed data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Health index to judge 307 England’s local authorities on three factors.
Survey respondents were asked to give a score out of 10 for how anxious they felt on the previous day, how happy they felt on the previous day, and how satisfied they are with their life.
Dartford was revealed to be the most relaxed, where respondents scored an average of 1.7 for feelings of anxiety, 7.93 on average for general happiness, and 8.05 for life satisfaction, awarding the area as the top location where residents felt most relaxed.
