An elderly pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus outside London Victoria station.

The incident happened in Wilton Road near Vauxhall Bridge Road at around 12.45pm yesterday (October 8).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene and found a man in his 90s injured.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as non life-threatening or life-changing.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.38pm today (Tuesday 8 October) to reports of a road traffic collision in Wilton Road, SW1V.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews.

“The first of our crews arrived in two minutes.

“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre.”

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 12:43hrs on Tuesday, 8 October to reports of a traffic collision at Vauxhall Bridge Road.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. At the scene a male pedestrian, aged in his 90s, had been in collision with a bus.

“The injured man was taken by LAS to a central London hospital, where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing. 

“A scene and closures remain in place at this time.  

“There has been no arrest.
