A property on the Woolwich Dockyard Estate has been ordered to close due to ongoing anti-social behaviour and crime.

Council officers first noticed drug dealing and other anti-social behaviour near the property on Marine Drive during regular patrols.

The Metropolitan Police has previously issued several warrants for the property where drugs and weapons were seized.

Greenwich Council had issued warnings and interviewed the residents at the property several times, but the criminal behaviour continued.

Other residents on the estate also reported how the criminal activity was affecting them and the community.

All information gathered by the council and police was presented at Bexley Magistrates Court on September 25, 2024, where the order was made for the closure of the property.

“This closure is a fantastic example of collaborative work between the council and police to ensure everyone in Greenwich feels safer from anti-social behaviour and crime and feels safe and secure in their homes”, a Greenwich Council spokesperson said.
