A popular Crayford hair salon with a “strong community feel” celebrated its 20th anniversary at the weekend.

Salon167 first opened its doors in 2004, and was later a partner of the popular beauty chain Look Fantastic, before it became an independent salon.

On October 12, salon owner Hannah Harrison and her 14 staff celebrated a huge milestone as the salon celebrated 20 years in business.

Hannah said: “We've gone through Covid and competition in the area, but we’ve survived it all and it’s a big achievement to be celebrating.

“I’ve got some staff that have worked with me for 18 years from when they first started as apprentices, and I’ve seen them grow.

“And the same for the customers, we have customers who’ve been coming since we opened and even before when I was a stylist before opening this salon.

“So the salon really has a strong community feel.”

Hannah said: “We celebrated the fact we’ve been here for two decades and I wanted to mark it for both the staff and the locals.

“It's nice to do something for the clients, because they've been loyal to us and so many have been coming for a long time.”

Hannah said: “I've had two of my staff get married that started as apprenticeships together, who have gone on to have three children, and it’s been an honour to be a part of their lives.”

Hannah added that she has ambitions for the salon’s future, which would involve expanding on their services to include wig and hair loss services, as well as the potential of opening a new training academy.

Hannah said: “We’ve got a plan in place; nothing is quite set in stone right now but we are looking to the future to expand and grow.”
