A bus driver has been charged as a man remains in critical condition after being hit by a bus in Croydon.
Akil Atkins, of Tipton Drive, Croydon, was charged with drug driving on October 6.
The 30-year-old was arrested after a bus hit a pedestrian on George Street, on October 5 just before 1.10pm.
A man, 46, was found with injuries and paramedics arrived in less than three minutes before rushing him to hospital, where he remains at this time.
Atkins has been bailed to return on a date in mid-December, pending further enquiries, the Metropolitan Police said.
A Met spokesperson said: "Police were called to George Street, Croydon, a 1.09pm on Saturday, October 5, to reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.
"Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service.
"A 46-year-old man was found injured. He has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
"The bus driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and was taken into custody.
"On Sunday, October 6, Akil Atkins, 30, of Tipton Drive, Croydon, was charged with drug driving.
"He is bailed to return on a date in mid-December pending further enquiries."
