A busy road in Romford was closed for more than six hours after a motorbike and car crash.
The crash caused severe delays at the junction of London Road and Spring Gardens since around 5.50am today (October 22).
Emergency services attended and a man, in his 30s, was taken to an east London hospital where his condition is being assessed.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.
As investigations were ongoing, the road was blocked both ways between Lonsdale Avenue and Spring Gardens, causing congestion to a mile and a half at either side.
The 86 bus was also diverted from the scene.
It is understood that the road was in the process of reopening just before 1pm, with slow traffic still in the area at the time.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
Anyone with dashcam footage should call police on 101 or contact @MetCC on X quoting 1019/22OCT.
