A2 maintenance is scheduled for this week, potentially causing delays and diversions for drivers due to road closures.
These works are part of a planned effort to enhance road safety and infrastructure.
Drivers are advised that diversions and delays might accompany these crucial works.
National Highways maintains major A-roads and motorways, such as the A2, which serves as a vital route connecting Dover to London.
Spanning nearly 72 miles from Borough in London to Dover Docks, the A2 will see several closures over the coming days.
Drivers should plan their journeys accordingly and follow any posted diversion routes to avoid delays.
Here are the planned closures for the week:
- Tuesday, October 22: A2 eastbound Bean exit slip road will be closed from 10pm to 6am on October 23. This closure is due to technology works on the slip road and lane.
- Wednesday, October 23: A2 eastbound Ebbsfleet exit slip road will be shut from 8pm to 6am on October 24. Maintenance works will affect the slip road and lanes from Merry Chest to Ebbsfleet.
- Thursday, October 24: The A2 eastbound Pepperhill entry slip road will close from 8:30pm to 4am on October 25. This closure will affect the A2260 to Pepperhill section, with lane closures for maintenance.
- Sunday, October 27: A2 eastbound Upper Harbledown exit slip road will be closed from 9pm to 4am on October 28. Maintenance work will take place from Dunkirk to London Road, impacting both the slip road and lanes.
There are no closures on the remaining days of the week.
