A chicken shop in Romford which hoped to open until 1am has had its plans refused.
Dixy Chicken, in Old Mill Parade, Victoria Road, submitted a planning application to Havering Council in August to vary a condition that states when it can open.
The takeaway had hoped to extend its opening hours from midnight until 1am, seven days a week - but the council decided this would cause "noise and disturbance" in the area.
According to the planning officer's report, the application was refused because opening later would be "to the detriment of the amenity and living conditions of neighbouring occupiers".
The planning officer said: "The proposed extension of operating hours would, by reason of its location and relationship to nearby sensitive receptors, result in an unsatisfactory relationship by way of noise and disturbance.
"The proposal failed to provide adequate acoustic justification to demonstrate that residential amenity would not be adversely impacted."
A total of 34 neighbouring properties were notified of the proposal at the consultation stage, and one person objected, raising concerns about "anti-social behaviour".

Dixy Chicken has previously had three other applications refused to vary its opening hours, first hoping to open until 2.30am, before bringing this forward to 1.30am.
The fried chicken shop argues that the condition - which was put in place in 2000 and prevents the restaurant from opening past midnight - is outdated today, as Romford has become a more "active" area for late-night hospitality.
In the planning document, the takeaway restaurant said: "After the Elizabeth line opened, Romford became more connected to central London, known for its active nightlife and late operation hospitality."
"Therefore, extending the restaurant opening hours by at least one hour after midnight will provide the growing area with the needed hospitality services and, in general, it will support the local economy."
