An “exciting” new Asian restaurant is opening soon in Hornchurch.
Family-run eatery Bento will be replacing Chopsticks in High Street.
The site is currently undergoing major interior refurbishment, but it started taking takeaway and delivery orders on Monday, November 4.
A date for the opening of the restaurant for sit-down meals is yet to be confirmed.
It is taking the place of Chopsticks, a recently closed-down Chinese restaurant and takeaway.
Bento manager Jonathan Tse said that although the new business is replacing a former Chinese spot, Bento will be serving “more than just Chinese food”.
He told this paper it will have an extensive menu that covers a range of Asian cuisines, such as Japanese, Thai and Malaysian.
With only “36 tables”, Jonathan is keen to ensure the restaurant embraces a “small local” feel, serving customers authentic Asian cuisine “with much more choice than a normal Chinese restaurant”.
Jonathan described Bento as “the most exciting Asian restaurant in the area”.
