A Halloween maze run by a Romford couple is returning for more scares - complete with "ghosts, monsters and ghouls".

Karen and Darryl Andrews, from Collier Row - who first created their "Halloween scareMaze" in 2014 - are once again transforming their garden into a maze that rivals Fright Night.

The event in Boxmoor Road runs each year on Halloween night only, and has something of a cult following.

A Facebook group for the maze, set up for visitors to post comments and photos of their experiences, has more than 600 members.

The maze is free to enter, but donations are collected at the end in a "creepy cave", which will this year go towards NHS trusts.

Daryll previously told the Recorder that people "queue down the street" to take part in the maze.

He said: "It’s just a bit of fun and we enjoy doing it, lots of the children enjoy it and it is great seeing them take part.

"We raise money for a different charity every year, and we have a donation bucket at the end for anyone who would like to make a donation."

Sweets are also given out at the end, which have this year been donated by Tony's Bakery.

The maze is set up so it can go ahead in all weathers, with enclosed and sheltered parts, as well as open areas.

During the experience visitors will come across spooky props and real life "scarers" - dressed up as nuns, clowns and scarecrows.

Karen and Daryll cater for all ages, however, and have dedicated marshals to accompany younger children around the maze, or those who are too scared to go by themselves.
