A new Lidl store is set to open in Canning Town.
The store is coming in early 2025 and will be part of the Hallsville Quarter development.
The multi-million-pound investment will create around 40 new jobs, a spokesperson for Lidl said.
The new store will have a sales area of 1,041 square metres and will include a bakery, customer toilets with baby changing facilities, and the Middle of Lidl section.
It will also have parking spaces for cars and bicycles and access to public transport.
Lidl received the keys for the store on October 30, from developer and lead contractor Bouygues UK.
The store is part of the third phase of the Hallsville Quarter Estate, a major regeneration scheme.
Internal fit-out works are underway to transform the space into a "modern Lidl store".
Colin Rimmer, regional head of property at Lidl GB, said: "We’re thrilled to be one step closer to opening the doors of our first store in Canning Town as part of the exciting Hallsville Quarter development.
"We’re committed to making sure that everyone, no matter where they live, has access to high-quality food at the best value.
"As fit-out works commence, we look forward to keeping locals updated on our progress."
