A man has died after being found in the River Thames near Erith.
Emergency services were called to Crabtree Manorway South and Church Manorway just after 3.15pm yesterday (November 2) to reports of a person in the River Thames.
The person was identified as a man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification has not taken place.
The death is currently considered unexpected, though no suspicious circumstances are believed to be involved.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 3.15pm on Saturday, November 2, to reports of a person in the River Thames close to Crabtree Manorway South in Erith.
“Emergency services attended.
“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Formal identification has not taken place.”
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3.22pm on Saturday, November 2, to reports of an incident in Church Manorway, DA8.
“We sent resources to the scene, including members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“Our crews attended the scene and worked with our emergency services partners.
“Sadly, a patient died at the scene.”
