This Christmas, Woolwich Works will become south east London’s very own festive Funland.
Packed with wonderful activities that will entertain visitors of all ages.
From a gingerbread village to Christmas sing-alongs and weekly Grotto visits, there’s something magical for everyone.
From Saturday, November 3 to Monday 6 January, there’s a lineup of events designed to light up your holiday season.
Below is a list of the activities kicking off at Woolwich Works this Christmas.
Friday, November 29, to Monday, December 23:
Gingerbread Grotto
This Christmas, Santa is making a stop at Woolwich Works, welcoming local families to his “enchanting” Gingerbread Grotto.
Visitors can step into the wonderland, with a lollipop-lined garden and an icing-tiled roof.
This event for all ages will take place on select weekends leading up to Christmas.
Tickets are £10 per child (plus booking fee) and include a visit with Santa and free gingerbread.
Parents, carers and family members go free.
Visitors to the Gingerbread Grotto can colour, create and craft while they wait.
Saturday, November 30 to Monday, January 6:
Gingerbread Greenwich
Visitors can step into Gingerbread Greenwich, where the streets are paved with candy and buildings, all made from gingerbread.
This spectacle is the work of local schools, and it’s a free event for all.
Visitors can drop into the café anytime during opening hours to look at the gingerbread exhibition – no booking required.
Saturday, November 30 to Sunday, December 22:
Christmas Crafternoons
Families are invited to cut, stick, paste and create at Woolwich Works Christmas Crafternoons, a free and festive drop-in.
Led by artist Christina Rose-Brown, crafters can make their own gingerbread house bunting, gingerbread family greeting cards and other paper-based crafts.
Christmas Crafternoons are available for children from the age of 2.
Sunday, December 8:
Baby Broadway UK and CK Gospel Choir Presents Baby Gospel Christmas Special
Families can bring their babies and toddlers to this Christmas concert featuring the London CK Gospel Choir.
Everyone is invited to join in clapping and singing to timeless soul and Motown hits.
Tickets are £12 for anyone older than six months old.
Thursday, December 12:
A Chineke! Christmas
This Christmas, Resident Artistic Company Chineke! Orchestra is set to bring festive joy to Woolwich with an “enchanting evening of music and celebration”.
Families can join their internationally acclaimed orchestra for a performance filled with traditional tunes, soulful songs, and carols that will have audiences of all ages singing along.
Tickets are just £14 (plus booking fee, with concessions available).
Mark T Cox Presents Queer Christmas With Mark T Cox
International cabaret star Mark T Cox will also be at Woolwich Works this Christmas.
Mark T Cox is bringing his unique blend of comedy and musical talent to Woolwich Works for an evening of festive cheer.
Families can expect renditions of beloved Christmas classics alongside pop hits that promises to “get everyone in the holiday spirit”.
Mark’s performances are renowned for their inclusivity and warmth, inviting everyone to join in on the fun.
The event is free, but booking is recommended and only ages 18+.
Sunday, December 15:
The Entertainers Present: Step Into Christmas
Families can Step into Christmas—a festive show hosted at Woolwich Works in the Fireworks Factory.
Everyone can enjoy a sing-along to holiday favourites like All I Want for Christmas Is You, Last Christmas, Jingle Bell Rock, and more.
Featuring performances from a talented cast, the show offers something for all ages.
Ideal for families, it’s an opportunity to share in the holiday spirit together.
Tickets start at £30 for adults and £18 for those under 16 (booking fees apply, with concessions available).
Friday, December 20:
End of Term Christmas Party
Families are welcome to celebrate the start of the winter break and kick off the holiday season at Woolwich Works.
You can enjoy a lively event with DJ Rio playing festive, feel-good tunes to get everyone in the holiday mood.
While kids dance and play, adults can unwind with light bites and drinks from the Visitors’ Book Café, explore giant games, and view the Gingerbread Greenwich display.
This is a free, drop-in event for all ages—no booking required.

Saturday 21 – Sunday, December 22:
The Enchanted Cinema Presents 'The Snowman' (Interactive)
Families are invited to The Enchanted Cinema for an immersive and interactive screening of the classic The Snowman.
Ideal for families, this unique experience begins with a 30-minute workshop where participants create sound effects and sing along to the famous “Walking in the Air” sequence, led by a musician who guides visitors in bringing scenes to life with special instruments or their voices.
After the workshop, enjoy Dianne Jackson’s enchanting animation on the big screen, celebrating 40 years of this classic.
Following the film, children can explore instruments on stage and browse original books by Raymond Briggs.
This show is designed for children aged 4 and up, along with their adults, as they team up to form a magical orchestra.
Ticket prices start at £15 (plus booking fee), with family tickets available and babies in arms admitted for free
