A new bowling alley with food, drinks and live music is set to open in Greenwich this week.

Vintners Lane on Greenwich High Road has taken over an old Victorian pub and will offer an experience that combines bowling with food, drinks and events.

The bowling alley has prided itself on being “bowling, but better”.

Visitors will be able to visit Vintners Lane to play a game or two of bowling or opt for an unlimited package.

A menu featuring sharing platters, pizzas, burgers, wings, and lots of other foods will be on offer.

There is also a drinks menu which includes hand-crafted signature cocktails and mocktails, as well as craft beers, wine curated by the Davy’s wine merchants’ team, and a selection of no- and low-alcohol options.

Vintners Lanes preserve the heritage of its surroundings with the venue’s industrial-chic aesthetic complemented by original period furniture, Victoriana artwork, and vintage bowling memorabilia.

The Vintners Lane team also plan to bring a range of entertainment to the venue in the coming months, including cocktail-making classes and live music.

It will also be available for private hire for parties.

Visitors will be able to combine bowling with a visit to Davy’s Wine Vaults, the Yard Bar or Houdini’s Escape Rooms, all together under one roof.

The person behind everything is James Davy, a fifth-generation chairman of the family’s wine business.

James will bring his family’s 154 years of experience in delivering “exceptional quality” and “superior service” into the socialising space.

James said: “I’m delighted to be breathing new life into this key heritage landmark in Greenwich and Vintners Lanes is the perfect way to do it.

“You can really feel the history of the place as soon as you step through the door, and with the high standard of food, drinks and service you’d expect from a Davy’s business we’ve really elevated bowling into a more grown-up experience.”

Vintners Lane will open its doors on Friday, November 15.
