John McGee's 180 led the N19 to an 8-6 triumph over the Nambucca as the new Archway Darts League began in spine-tingling fashion on Halloween.
Martin Coyle notched a singles win against Paul Badman for the visitors to win the MVP award, but McGee and Kip Watson’s doubles team secured the win for the N19.
The Crown started the defence of their title with a 8-6 win over PJ’s, as Mick Todd and Paul Ryan’s ‘Clough and Taylor’ alliance looks to place an emphasis on their cultivation of youthful talent and teamwork.
At The Corner Flag, the hosts had to be satisfied with a 7-7 draw against the Robert Peel, as the visitors were buoyed by the debuts of former Kennedy’s hitmen and hall of famers Bob Triggs and Darren Canty.
At Doyles, Jimmy Tisdall’s display against the Old Oak helped the victors win by a 10-4 scoreline by throwing a 180 in a 15-dart leg as Allan Cole hit a maximum in consolation for the Oak.
