Armed police have flocked to a busy road in Bromley after a man was reportedly seen breaking windows of a property.
The incident happened in Plaistow Lane outside Sundridge Park station just before 3.40pm yesterday (November 9).
It was also reported that he was allegedly in possession of a weapon.
Officers shut off a section of Garden Road and were seen in the car park of a supported housing block.
Shortly after, the incident was stood down and a man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
However, there was no evidence that he was in possession of a weapon.
The man was taken to hospital after suffering injuries to his hands.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 3.39pm on Saturday, 9 November, to reports of a man breaking windows at premises in Plaistow Lane, Bromley.
“It was also reported that he was allegedly in possession of a weapon.
“Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage. There is no evidence that he was in possession of a weapon.
“The man was taken to hospital suffering injuries to his hands.”
