The Dagenham Girl Pipers have marked their last ever performance at the head of a Remembrance Sunday procession.

The band was founded in 1930 but has decided to split up due to a lack of new recruits.

Their final performance took place today (November 10), at the head of a Remembrance Sunday procession.

The group led the parade to Dagenham Parish Church from Dagenham Trades Hall at 10.30am.

A service organised by the Royal Naval Association then took place at the church, where two-minutes silence was marked at 11am.

Attendees at the event included Dagenham and Rainham MP Margaret Mullane, borough Mayor Cllr Moin Quadri and London Assembly Member Unmesh Desai.

Large crowds gathered to watch the parade, with only those who had arrived at the church early able to take a seat.
