Schoolchildren laid a wreath to commemorate those who lost their lives in conflict as the borough marked Remembrance Sunday.

The Gower School’s Year 6 pupils were among those who joined the Mayor of Islington, MPs and members of the armed forces in a procession from Highbury Fields, along Upper Street to Islington Green War Memorial.

Head girl Maja and Head boy Hugo took part in the ceremony, laying a wreath made of hand-sewn poppies crafted by Year 1 and Year 2 children.
