Camden Market has unveiled five weeks of festive activities, kicking off with a "spectacular" Christmas lights switch-on.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 28, and will see the market transformed into a Christmas wonderland.

Organisers say visitors can expect a "stunning" canopy of illumination, including a 'ceiling of light' above Water Lane, sparkling icicle lights, and shimmering star lights scattered throughout the market.

This year, Camden Market is introducing its biggest-ever display of colourful trees, with five Christmas trees in fuchsia pink, electric blue, and lime green.

A 20ft tree in Hawley Wharf’s Market Square and 16ft trees at The Quay and Waterside Halls will add to the festive glow.

A new feature, the Enchanted Ice Grotto, will open in Waterside Halls West on the same day.

Inside, children will be able to meet Santa for £6 per child on December 14, 15, and 19 to 23.

Pre-booked time slots will be available from 1pm to 5pm, and £1 from each ticket sale will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

The Grotto will also host biscuit decorating, face painting, art workshops, and a lucky dip present giveaway in partnership with Babylon Park.

Camden Market has lined up a series of community choir performances throughout December from 5pm to 6pm at the Market Square Tree.

On December 15, The Rock Choir will perform, followed by London City Voices on December 21, and IDMC Gospel Soul Choir on December 22.

A free Cheeky Meeky Festive Rave will take place on December 23 from 4pm to 6pm, featuring DJ Amika in the Babylon Park Party Room.

Throughout the Christmas period, Camden Market will also showcase a variety of food, craft, and arts promotions.

A range of food stalls, including Yorkshire Burrito, Bread Bite Camden, Gnocchi Bar, Duck World, and Zala Grill, will provide festive treats and discounts.
