A man who was caught with a knife at a Tesco store has been jailed.
Adrian Lacey was arrested at the supermarket in Sutton last Wednesday (November 6).
The 42-year-old had smashed a window at the store and was carrying a three-inch pocketknife.
The following day Lacey was produced at Croydon Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to possessing a knife and criminal damage.
He was sentenced to six months in prison.
Magistrates said only a prison sentence could be justified as he has a record of similar offences.
