A Christmas event which has been running for more than 10 years is set to return to Carshalton this year.
The Carshalton Frost Fair, which began in 2012, is back again this year, bringing back its traditional winter event with entertainment and activities for the whole family.
The Carshalton Frost Fair, overlooking the Carshalton Ponds, will be held on Saturday, December 7, from 1pm to 6pm.
Below is the line-up for the Carshalton Frost Fair 2024:
Outside:
As it gets darker, the area will be lit with twinkling fairy lights which aims to create a “magical atmosphere”.
There will be two live entertainment and demonstration areas with carol singing, dancing, choirs, folk, and pop bands.
There will also be stalls from the Wallington Farmers Market and the Eco-Fair, who will bring a range of treats and locally-made Christmas gift ideas, such as glassware, wooden craft, local art and more.
As well as vegetarian catering there will be a hog roast, seasonal food and a bar with warming drinks including mulled wine and hot cider.
Charity stalls such as Carshalton Lavender and Fairtrade Sutton will also be there.
Winter Wonderland Trail:
The Friends of the Ecology Centre will bring their Winter Wonderland Trail suitable for families with young children.
Time: 1pm to 4pm.
Last entry: 3.30pm.
Cost: £5 per child over the age of three and £1 per child aged two and three.
Where: Access through Ecology Centre grounds, entrance via Old Rectory off Festival Walk then up by the Garden Hell.
No booking is required and no dogs are permitted.
Inside Honeywood Museum:
Organised by the Friends of Honeywood tickets will be on sale from the ticket booth outside Honeywood Museum.
It will open at 12pm on December 7 and tickets are limited.
• Father Christmas' Grotto - £3 for each child (accompanying adult free)
• Christmas Magic Shows – £3 for each child (accompanying adult free)
• Free Storytelling all afternoon – must be booked at ticket kiosk on the day.
• Free entrance to Museum. Table games and Lucky Dip.
• Gift Shop and Cafe open
The Children’s Craft Activities will take place inside the Garden Hall between 1pm and 5pm, and entry is £2.
As the day goes on, live entertainment will perform on the stage.

12.40pm:
Performer: Penny Royal – Traditional clog dances to get the festivities going.
1pm:
Performer: Earth, Wind and Choir, a community choir with a repertoire spanning contemporary hits and timeless classics.
1.35pm:
Performer: Carshalton Choral Society, a choir formed in 1946, with around 80 members.
2.10pm:
Performer: Monkey Boots, an offshoot from the Cryer Folk club.
2.45pm:
Performer: Madder Mill Molly, a mixed morris side dancing the molly style, with brooms.
3.20pm:
Performer: Brook Choir, a community choir singing original arrangements of classic hits.
3.55pm:
Performer: Wandle Ceilidh Band, a local traditional folk band performing Christmas and folk tunes.
4.30pm:
Performer: Croydon Brass Band, a long-established brass band performing a wide range of music.
The event has been organised by the Friends of Honeywood Museum and the charity EcoLocal who have stated on their website that “There will be lots on at this year's Frost Fair - so put the date in your diary and invite family and friends.”
There is no entrance fee to the main event, but EcoLocal welcomes donations towards the cost of running the event, which they put on as volunteers.
They are also collecting for our eco-wellbeing projects which make a huge difference to people's physical and mental health locally.
