A 48-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being attacked by a dog in Woolwich.
The incident happened in Eglinton Road near Ripon Road just after 8am yesterday (November 13).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a woman with injuries to her arms and legs.
She was taken to hospital for treatment where her condition is currently unknown.
The dog has since been seized by police as an investigation into the circumstances continue.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 08:02hrs on Wednesday, 13 November officers were called to Eglington Road, SE18 following reports that a woman had been attacked by a dog.
“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics.
“The victim, a 48-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with injuries to her arms and legs.
“The dog was seized and an investigation is under way.”
The full London Ambulance Service statement says: “We were called at 7.58am yesterday (13 November 2024) to reports of an injured person in Eglinton Road, Woolwich.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, members of our Tactical Response Unit (TRU), an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
“Our crews treated a woman at the scene, before taking her to hospital by road.”
