Plans to redevelop a car park into 34 new homes and to extend the site of a car dealership are among the many planning applications submitted to the local authority over the last week.

Havering Council has received over 33 applications for a variety of developments in the borough.

We have summed up the most notable applications and included them for ease below:

  • A retrospective application was submitted for the change of a four-bedroom residential place on 4 Camborne Terrace, Camborne Avenue, to become a five-bedroom property. (P1474.24)
  • The Stellantis &You car dealership at London Road, Romford, could have an extension of the existing valet unit. There are plans to create an additional wet bay and small front extension to the wet bay – the extensions will be open to the front so not an enclosed building. (P1406.24).
  • Plans were put forward to change the use of 330 Upminster Road, North Rainham, from a single residential to supported living for up to three adults receiving care. (P1454.24).
  • A car park next to Dorrington Gardens, Hornchurch, could be demolished to redevelop the site and provide 34 new homes – including new access, car parking, landscaping and related infrastructure. This would also include a new substation. (P1463.24).

There are plans to replace the existing shop front at the take-away on 189 St Marys Lane, Upminster, with a new shopfront, projecting sign and canopy blind. It will be painted “racing green” and the projecting sign will have white lettering and a painted green background. (P1465.24)
