A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Bexley.
Detectives have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened shortly after 11.30pm on Friday on Vicarage Road, at its junction with Tile Kiln Lane, Bexley.
Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended but the man, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The car involved failed to stop after the crash.
The Metropolitan Police said a 45-year-old man later went to a police station and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at a collision. He remains in police custody.
Police said: “Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who was travelling on or near Vicarage Road at the time of the incident and may have captured events on dash cam, to get in contact.”
