A teenager is in a life-threatening condition after he was stabbed while on a bus.
Police were called to Ilford High Road, near to the Redbridge Council building, yesterday (November 16) at 5.25pm after reports of a stabbing.
Originally the Metropolitan Police said a man, 18, was found with injuries.
However, the force has clarified that the victim was actually a 17-year-old boy.
In an update, the Met said that he remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
A spokesperson said: “It is understood the victim was stabbed while on a route 145 bus. Shortly after the incident he left the bus at Lynton House, Ilford High Road and emergency services were called.
“Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are carrying out a number of fast-time enquiries, including examination of CCTV and speaking with witnesses.”
There have been no arrests at this time.
