Three Wetherspoon pubs in Sutton have won Platinum in the Loo of the Year Awards 2024.

The Loo of the Year Awards are aimed at highlighting the standards of toilet provision in public spaces across the UK.

The Nonsuch Inn in London Road, North Cheam, The Moon on the Hill in Hill Road, Sutton, and The Whispering Moon in Woodcote Road, Wallington, have each been awarded a platinum rating by inspectors.

Loo of the Year Awards inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at sites across the UK, to judge them.

The toilets are grades either silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus, or diamond.

Unacceptable toilets aren’t graded at all.

The toilets are judged through their decor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment, and overall management.

The Nonsuch Inn, The Moon on the Hill, and The Whispering Moon also won Loo of the Year awards in 2022 and 2023.

The Nonsuch Inn manager Martin Kelly previously said: "We are delighted with the award.

“Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."

The Loo of the Year Awards 2024 managing director Becky Wall, said: "The toilets at the three pubs have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.

"The pubs deserve their platinum awards.”
