A major fire has broken out at a waste recycling facility in Southwark, causing around 100 people to evacuate.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters are still working to put out the blaze in Devon Street.
The fire started in an unloading bay containing about 50 tonnes of mixed recycling just after 12.30pm today (November 18).
Around 100 people evacuated the site before emergency crews arrived.
No injuries have been reported.
Residents nearby have been advised to keep windows and doors shut due to smoke.
Fire crews from New Cross, Old Kent Road, Peckham and Deptford stations are the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Incident Commander Tom Ronan said: "Firefighters are working hard to extinguish deep-seated pockets of fire within a pile of waste.
“We are also working closely with the site operator to put out the blaze.
"We are likely to be on scene throughout the rest of the day as we work to fully extinguish the fire."
