Counter terrorism police have swarmed north Wembley after a group of people allegedly forced their way into a defence technology firm.
Officers were spotted in Llanover Road, North Wembley yesterday (November 19) and remain at the scene today (November 20) due to an ongoing terrorism investigation.
Nine people across the UK were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.
It follows after an attack on the Elbit Systems defence technology firm in South Gloucestershire.
A group of people forced their way into the building of the Israeli-based international military technology company on August 6 this year.
During this time, the mob caused “extensive damage” and employees of the company and two police officers were reportedly seriously assaulted.
Six people from London were among the nine people arrested yesterday.
This includes four women, aged 19, 24, 28, 30 and 40, and a 27-year-old man.
The Counter Terrorism Policing South East says other arrests in London include Warfield Road in Kensal Green, The Knoll in Beckenham, Bedford Avenue in Barnet, Delorme Street in Hammersmith and Fulham and Langdon Crescent in Newham.
A 32-year-old man from Liverpool, a 23-year-old man from Bristol and a 32-year-old from Manchester were also among those arrested.
A 72-year-old man from Hull has been arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
They all remain in custody at this time.
Earlier this year, 10 other people were arrested and charged in August as part of the investigation.
