A seven-year-old boy and two men were attacked by a German Shepherd which “had been trained to be aggressive”, a court has heard.
Police rushed to Broughton Road in Thornton Heath on the morning of May 31 to reports that an escaped dog had injured a man and a young boy.
As officers secured the dog a second man approached them to say he had also been attacked by the same dog.
Officers launched a search for the dog’s owners and Daniel Oppong was later arrested.
On Thursday (November 21) Oppong, 59, of Earlswood Avenue in Thornton Heath, pleaded guilty to three counts of being in charge of a dog which caused injury whilst dangerously out of control.
Prosecutor Emily Timcke said: “The dog was trained to be aggressive. It was a security dog.”
Oppong, a security officer who is director of a security firm, has no previous convictions.
The dog was taken into kennels and has since passed away of natural causes.
All of the injuries were surface levels cuts and scrapes, Ms Timcke said.
District Judge Holland told Oppong: “Your case is too serious to be dealt with by this court.”
He sent the case to Croydon Crown Court to be dealt with at a later date.
