A man has been charged with attempted murder after a disturbance on a bus in Brixton left another man fighting for his life.

Nathan Grant, 39, of Lambeth Walk, Brixton, was charged on November 22 with attempted murder and theft.

He appeared at Croydon Crown Court on November 23 and has been remanded in custody.

His next court appearance is scheduled for December 20 at the Old Bailey.

The incident happened on a route 59 bus on Brixton Road, SW9, at around 10.20am on November 21.

A 40-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

His family has been informed.

Specialist Crime Command detectives arrested Grant on suspicion of attempted murder.

It is believed no weapons were involved, but police are continuing their investigation.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information, including CCTV, mobile phone, doorbell, or dashcam footage, to contact them.
