ESSEX Police are on the scene in an Essex town where a man has been rushed to hospital with ‘serious injuries’.
Officers have been attending an incident in Howard Close, Waltham Abbey since 3.30pm today where it was reported a confrontation had taken place and a man had sustained a serious injury.
The man has been taken to hospital for treatment, though at this stage, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
There is a significant police presence in the area which will remain into the evening.
At this stage, no arrests have been made and officers are following a number of targeted inquiries.
Superintendent Tim Tubbs said: “Residents will be aware of a significant policing presence in the area.
“These officers will be carrying out early but very extensive enquiries including speaking to witnesses, to people living nearby and identifying CCTV opportunities.
“The police presence will continue this evening, and I would encourage anyone who is concerned to please speak to those officers for reassurance.
“I’m aware how concerning these incidents may be and I will endeavour to keep our residents as up to date as I possibly can.”
