A 34-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Tower Hamlets.

Police were called shortly after 4pm today (November 25) to reports of a man found stabbed on Clare Street.

Emergency services attended and London Ambulance crews treated the man at the scene, before taking him to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

They remain in custody at an east London police station.

A crime scene remains in place, and anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting CAD 5024/25Nov.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called shortly after 4pm on Monday, 25 November to reports of a man found stabbed on Clare Street, E2.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

"The 34-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Four men were arrested a short time later on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

"They remain in custody at an east London police station.

"A crime scene is in place.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting CAD 5024/25Nov."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 16.04pm today (Monday 25 November) to reports of a stabbing on Clare Street.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a tactical response unit, an incident response officer and we dispatched a team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a major trauma centre.”
